New Hall Wine yard, a 67 hectare English Vineyard, is one of the oldest and largest English Wine Producers in the Country and was first established in Essex by the Greenwood family in the village of Purleigh in 1969. The vines grown at New Hall have been planted between 12m to 24m above sea level on well-sheltered southern facing slopes of a shallow valley.  This, over the years, has proven itself to be an almost ideal climatic site for the growing of vines in England and regularly produces above average crops of high quality grapes with naturally high sugars, normally in excess of 250,000 bottles of wine each year.
